This book is written as a quick reference guide to be a support to someone whose loved one is dealing with thoughts of suicide, depression, anxiety and grief (including grief from loss by suicide), as well as to be a help to someone who struggles with these symptoms themselves.

In my writing I bring expertise from a decade of private practice as a mental health counselor, in addition to the following work experience: Elementary School Counselor (three month long term substitute), Behavior Specialist at Pierce County Human Services (a facility including a detox wing, triage, and longer term inpatient), leader for a Domestic Violence Group for women and children, Social Worker for the Department of Social and Health Services in a foster care unit, and, an internship as family counselor at Good Samaritan Hospital Family Services. In accordance with state licensure regulations, continuing education classes are attended yearly to ensure current research and information are known. Experientially, I have dealt myself with symptoms of depression, anxiety and grief, including grief following the shocking suicide of my brother.
