Just starting out here, discovering and expressing, creating and reaching out in one more way to encourage and hopefully help. I love the metaphor of huge things in life (for example, grief) being like an ocean, taken in all at once we would not survive, but when we take things one wave at a time, we are able to handle things. Sometimes we are knocked down, get wet, get water up our nose or in our eyes, but we can stand back up. We can be ready for the next wave to come. And soon we can see the waves coming in and enjoy the amazing waves, the adventure, the challenge. In time, we can grow to see the blessings and great stuff that comes alongside the hard stuff, the painful stuff.
II Corinthians 7:16 "Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything." Joyful confidence. Trust in WHO God is and not what happens...because life is good and bad, but God is ALWAYS good. I do not say this as I review a life of pure bliss and no heartache, I have experienced many gut wrenching tragedies and losses, illness and depression. And I have come through, grown to know my God more, to be stronger in Him, and gained a new perspective on life and love.
Romans 5:3-5 "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
